A well known lacuna in the general management and technical education is a lack of Institute-industry collaborations. There is a gap between the curriculum being taught and the real world requirements. Students are more often than not found to be wanting in several key skills of employability.
Institutes that are affiliated to Universities have to follow what has been laid down by the respective Universities. They have to offer their students for examinations, and most of the academic effort is concentrated towards attaining that objective. Institutes do not have the bandwidth to focus on other fundamental issues.
